Engine 642 in model 907 

TURBOCHARGER

1. Clamp exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe at flange (1) into the vise.

   Use protective jaws. Aid of helper required.

2. Remove screws (2, 3) and remove exhaust gas turbocharger from exhaust gas collector pipe.

   Aid of helper required.

3. Remove seal between exhaus gas collector pipe and exhaust gas turbocharger.

   Dispose of seal.

4. Clean sealing surfaces.
5. Install new seal between exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust gas turbocharger.

   Observe installation position and hole pattern of the seal.

6. Attach exhaust gas turbocharger to the exhaust gas collector pipe and screw in screws (2, 3) slightly by hand.

   The exhaust gas turbocharger must still be able to move.

7. Remove exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe from the vise.
8. Attach exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe together with the old seal of the oil supply connection fitting on the oil supply connection fitting and screw in screws slightly by hand.
9. Attach exhaust gas collector pipe to right and left exhaust manifold with old seals and screw in screws crosswise slightly by hand.
10. Tighten screw (2) .
11. Remove screws between exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust manifolds.
12. Carefully remove exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe from oil supply connection fitting without making contact with surrounding component parts.

    Avoid making contact with surrounding component parts.

    Contact with component parts results in pushing and, therefore, tension between the exhaust gas collector pipe and exhaust gas turbocharger. This causes engine damage.

13. Clamp exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe at flange (1) into the vise.

    Use protective jaws. Aid of helper required.

14. Fully tighten screws/bolts (3) .
15. Remove exhaust gas turbocharger with exhaust gas collector pipe from the vise.

    Aid of helper required.
