Suspension - SN00.00-D-0080-02AL

Model 907

with code ZL3 (National version for Latin America)

Suspension and damping

To be able to realize an optimal suspension design for the most differing body variants, a suspension for comfort and cargo protection is available as special equipment for the set-up in addition to the standard suspension. In addition to the standard equipment, the following suspension components are offered:

Code A50 (Front axle with higher load capacity)

This code includes increased load capacity of the front axle, which allows heavy bodies and equipment to be installed. The front axle with increased load capacity is designed for heavy-duty cabs and heavy-duty special equipment (e.g. for fire-fighting vehicles and ambulances).

PERMISSIBLE FRONT-AXLE LOADS

Permissible gross vehicle mass 3.5 t 3.88 t/4.10 t 5.0 t
Code Default A50 (Front axle with higher load capacity) Default A50 (Front axle with higher load capacity) Default A50 (Front axle with higher load capacity)
Axle load 1,650 kg 1,860 kg 1,860 kg 2,000 kg 1,850 kg 2,000 kg

Code CB1 (Suspension for comfort and sensitive loads)

This suspension provides increased comfort due to the adapted damping characteristics of the shock absorbers at the front and rear axles in combination with the use of suspension springs with a progressive compliance characteristic. The progressive compliance characteristic increases the ride comfort when the vehicle is unladen. The spring is designed such that it is "soft" when little force is applied and becomes "firmer" when the vehicle is loaded.

IMPORTANT Depending on the drive type, code CB1 (Suspension for comfort and sensitive loads) can be combined with code CB7 (Stabilization level I) or code CB8 (Stabilization level II).

Model Technical information Equipment
907.XXX Not in combination with code CB8 (Stabilization level II) or code Z12 (Reinforced rough-road version) Optional
907.x5x Not in combination with code CB7 (Stabilization level I) or code CB8 (Stabilization level II) Optional
907.84 x No restriction Standard

Code CB7 (Stabilization level I)

Code CB7 (Stabilization level I) offers improved roll stabilization as compared to the standard suspension. Stabilizers with an adjusted diameter are used at the front and rear axles. The diameter depends on the desired handling characteristics and the permissible gross vehicle mass. In addition, shock absorbers with adapted damping characteristics are installed.

907.x5x Not in combination with code CB1 (Suspension for comfort and sensitive loads) Optional
907.8xx - -

Code CB8 (Stabilization level II)

Code CB8 (Stabilization level II) offers further improved roll stabilization as compared to vehicles with code CB7 (Stabilization level I). Stabilizers with larger diameters are installed at the front and rear axles. In addition, shock absorbers with adjusted damping characteristics are installed at the front and rear axles. Leaf springs with increased rigidity are used at the rear axle.

907.8xx - -

Code CE8 (Raised body)

Code CE8 (Raised body) contains 35 mm spacers that are fitted between the rear and front springs to achieve greater ground clearance.

Code CT1 (Vibration damper)

Code CT1 (Vibration damper) contains a vibration damper that is fitted at the left and right rear spring to reduce resonant vibrations. This reduces noise development.

IMPORTANT Code UH2 (Seating for 8-seater with side aisle) is always combined with code CT1 (Vibration damper).

Steering

The variable steering ratio ensures greater agility and enables a full steering movement within three rotations.

All vehicles are equipped with speed-dependent electromechanical rack-and-pinion steering. This has a parameter function, i. e., the power steering system is adapted in a speed-dependent and continuously variable manner to the driving situation.
