To be able to realize an optimal suspension design for the most differing body variants, a suspension for comfort and cargo protection is available as special equipment for the set-up in addition to the standard suspension. The following suspension components are also offered:
- Code C83 (Rear axle springs for higher payload)
- Code CE8 (Raised body)
- Code CB2 (Air suspension comfort suspension)
- Front axle with higher load capacity
- Reinforced shock absorber
- Vibration damper
- Omission of vehicle lowering
- Rough roads version
- Rough-road version, reinforced
With the special equipment code C83 (Rear axle springs for higher payload), the steel springs on the rear axle available as standard are replaced by lighter, glass fiber reinforced plastic springs. The main feature of the glass-fiber-reinforced plastic rear axle springs is the reduced vehicle weight and the associated payload increase by up to approx. 12 kg.
For model 907, the code CB2 (Air suspension comfort suspension) is available as special equipment. It is operated via a button in the control panel or via the remote control. If a vehicle with air suspension is switched off, the air suspension can remain active for up to one hour, even if the ignition is switched off.
If the vehicle, e. g. is raised using a jack, the air suspension tries to balance the vehicle level. The jack can topple over. Press the "Service" button on the air spring remote control before raising the vehicle. This prevents the automatic adjustment of the vehicle level and the manual raising or lowering.
Brake system
In the Sprinter, the code B25 (Electric parking brake) can optionally be ordered for all vehicles with a permissible gross mass of 3.0t, 3.5t and 4.0t. The electric parking brake is actuated via a push/pull switch located beside the rotary light switch. As a result, the combined brake calipers of the rear axle are actuated. The brake caliper-integrated electrical actuators then actuate the service brake. Different comfort and safety functions can be realized via the electric parking brake. These include:
- Automatic locking of brake
- Automatic release of brake
- Auxiliary braking
- Emergency braking
- Automatic brake adjuster
Steering
In the Sprinter, a speed-dependent electromechanical rack-and-pinion steering is used as standard in all vehicles with front wheel drive and rear wheel drive. This has a parameter function, i. e., the power steering system is adapted in a speed-dependent and continuously variable manner to the driving situation.
In the case of vehicles with all-wheel drive, the tried-and-tested hydraulic power steering is still installed.

Front axle
The front axle has been moved toward to the front by 9 mm in comparison to vehicles with rear wheel drive. The track width has been increased by 50 mm.
Rear axle
The rear axle has been moved to the rear by 250 mm. The track width has been increased by 53 mm.
