Remove/Install Exhaust Gas RECIRCULATION Valve - Ar14.20-D-7662TSV

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. 	Risk of burn injuries,  suffocation and poisoning when working on the exhaust system and the components connected to it. Risk of suffocation and risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of gaseous and solid components of the exhaust. Risk of poisoning  caused by skin contact with solid components of the exhaust. 	Remove/install
1	Remove the cap of the expansion reservoir	To do this, turn the cap of the expansion reservoir (1) counterclockwise by a half revolution, release overpressure and then unscrew the cap.
2	Disconnect coolant hoses (2, 3).	Clamp	Fig 2
3	Remove coolant hoses (2, 3) from exhaust gas recirculation valve (6).	Collect coolant which flows out. Commercially available devices/tools  Collecting pan Check clamps.
		Hose clamp pliers ↓ Depending on the findings, replace affected clamp.	Fig 1
4	Disconnect electrical connector (4).
5	Remove bolts (5).	Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation valve to housing	*BA14.20-N-1002-01TSV
		Set of flexible head wrenches	Fig 3
6	Remove exhaust gas recirculation valve (6).	Collect coolant which flows out. Commercially available devices/tools  Collecting pan Replace seal.
	Clean
7	Clean sealing surface on the housing of the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6).	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
8	Clean sealing surface on the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6).	If the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) is reused. Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
9	Install in the reverse order.
10	Read out the fault memory using the diagnostic unit.	If the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) was replaced.
	Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit	Do not remove diagnostic device yet. If existing faults are shown: ↓ Erase the fault memory.	AD00.00-D-2000-06TS
11	Perform parameterization of exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) using diagnostic device in fuel injection system control unit.	If the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) was replaced.
12	Disconnect diagnostic unit.	If the exhaust gas recirculation valve (6) was replaced.
	Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit		AD00.00-D-2000-06TS
	Check
13	Check coolant level.
	Engine cooling system - inspecting fluid level, adjusting to correct level	Depending on the findings, → Correct coolant level.	AP20.00-D-2011TS
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
14	Check for leaktightness when engine is running.	Visual inspection only.
15	Check engine cooling system for leak tightness.		AR20.00-D-1011TS
