Vehicle diagnosis system is connected.
- Park vehicle on a setting station for headlamp adjustment.
- Move steering to straight-ahead position.
- Determine center of front axle using plumb bob (1) of
calibration device as shown.
- Mark center of front axle, as shown, on a strip of adhesive tape (2) affixed to the floor (arrow A).

- Determine extreme end of vehicle using plumb bob (1)
Calibration device, or other suitable aids, and mark on floor (arrow B) using a suitable strip of adhesive tape (3).
The extreme end of the vehicle depends on the vehicle equipment, e.g. bumper, trailer hitch, step, etc.
- Place motif plate (4) of
calibration device on ground behind vehicle.
The arrows on the side edge of the motif plate (3) point in the direction of travel.
- Align motif plate (4) parallel and centrally to the vehicle using a suitable straight profile (6) and a line laser (5).
To align the motif plate (4) parallel to the vehicle, the difference between the two reference distances to the marked center of the front axle must not exceed 5 mm. Otherwise the reversing camera (7) will be calibrated incorrectly and the camera picture may be incorrectly displayed.
The motif plate (4) is aligned parallel to the vehicle at the two markings previously made on the floor at the center of the front axle.
The center point (arrow C) of the motif plate (4) must be at a distance of 40 cm from the marking (arrow B). The reference point for establishing the vehicle center with the line laser (5) is the center point of the Mercedes star on the rear-end door or the center point of the camera lens.
Note down distance of marking on center of front axle to center of motif plate (4). This dimension is entered into the diagnostic system.

- Perform calibration of reversing camera (7) with vehicle diagnosis system.
The calibration with the vehicle diagnosis system is menu-assisted.
- After completing calibration, disconnect vehicle diagnosis system.
