Check And Adjust Wheel Bearing Play - Ar35.20-D-0310-06TSR

Check wheel bearing play 

1. Mount the ISj dial indicator holder onto the wheel hub.
2. Mount dial indicator.

   Set dial indicator to zero.

   When doing so, line up measuring tip with axle tube at front.

3. Check wheel bearing play on wheel hub by tugging and pushing. If wheel bearing play is correct.

   remove dial indicator and dial indicator holder.

   ↓

   If wheel bearing play is not correct,

   ↓

   remove dial indicator.

   Adjust wheel bearing play.

   Adjust wheel bearing play 

4. Remove dial indicator holder on wheel hub from measuring range.
5. Bend up locking plate (1).
6. Unscrew slotted nut (2) using the claw wrench.
7. Remove locking plate (1).
8. Test
   1. If the wheel bearing play is too large. Tighten slotted nut (2) using the claw wrench.
   2. If the wheel bearing play is too small. Release slotted nut (2) using the claw wrench.
9. Move dial indicator holder on wheel hub into measuring range.
10. Mount dial indicator.

    Set dial indicator to zero.

    When doing so, line up measuring tip with axle tube at front.

11. Check wheel bearing play on wheel hub using tugging and pushing movements.

    Read off measurement value.

    If wheel bearing play is correct,

    ↓

    remove dial indicator and dial indicator holder.

    If wheel bearing play is not correct,

    ↓

    Remove dial indicator holder on wheel hub from measuring range.

    Release or tighten slotted nut (2) to match the findings report using claw wrench.

    Repeat operation steps  10 to  12

    If the wheel bearing play cannot be adjusted within the tolerance range,

    Replace locking plate (1).

    replace the wheel bearing.

12. Fit locking plate (1).

    If the wheel bearing play setting is correct.

13. Tighten slotted nut (2) using the claw wrench .
14. Move lock washer (1).
15. Remove dial indicator from dial indicator holder.
