The following operation steps are shown on model 907 for the right side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the left side of the vehicle in the event of damage.
- Expose weld seam and separating points on corner pillar paneling lower section (1) (areas A, C and Q).
- Scribe separation lines on corner pillar paneling lower section (1) (areas A, C and Q).
- Cut corner pillar paneling lower section (1) at separating points (areas A, C and Q).
- Expose spot welds on corner pillar paneling lower section (1) (areas D, E, E1 , F, F1 , F2 , G and H).
- Cut off spot welds on corner pillar paneling lower section (1) (areas D, E, E1
, F, F1
, F2
, G and H).
Cut off spot welds through 2 panel thicknesses (areas E1 , F2 ).
Cut off spot welds on underside of spot weld flange (area F).
Cut off spot welds on upper side of spot weld flange (area F2 ).
- Expose weld seam on corner pillar paneling lower section (1) (area I).
- Cut weld seam at corner pillar paneling lower section (1) (area I).
- Remove damaged corner pillar paneling lower section (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Grind cross-hatched areas around holes down to bare metal (areas U, U1 ).
- Remove shavings and milling chips.
- Zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
