- Expose spot welds on rear panel (1) (areas A, B, C, and D).
Commercially available devices/tools
Rotary wire brush
- Cut off spot welds on rear panel (1) (areas A, B, C, and D).
Commercially available devices/tools
Spot weld milling machine
- Mark separating point as shown on rear panel (1) (area E).
Observe dimension (b).
- Cut rear panel (1) at separating point (area E).
Do not cut too deeply.
Otherwise the components underneath will be damaged and strength will be impaired.

Body power jigsaw
- Expose spot welds on rear panel (1) (areas F, G, and H).

- Cut off spot welds on rear panel (1) (areas F, G, and H).

Spot weld milling machine
- Remove damaged rear panel (1).
- Grind mating surfaces in cross-hatched areas (except area L) down to bare metal.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

- Grind mating surface in cross-hatched area (area L) down to bare metal.

- Bead rear panel (1) in cross-hatched area (area L) approx. 10 mm.
- Remove shavings and milling chips.

- Zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
