Prepare Rear Wall For Installation - Ar64.10-D-5746-02TSB

  1. Grind mating surfaces in cross-hatched areas on rear panel (1) down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    Rotary wire brush

  2. Remove shavings.

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

  3. Zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.

    Shown on model 907.2 with code F35 (cab rear panel with window) 

  4. Punch holes in the crossmember (3) (areas B, C, D, and E), crossmember (5) (areas G, H, I, and J), and bracket (4) (area F) with a diameter of 6 mm.

    The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Hole punching pliers

  5. Grind mating surfaces in the cross-hatched areas and around holes (areas B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, and J) down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    Rotary wire brush

  6. Remove shavings.

    IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 

    Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

  7. Zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
  8. Grind mating surfaces in cross-hatched areas on reinforcements (7, 8) down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  9. Attach reinforcements (6, 7, 8), crossmembers (3, 5), and bracket (4) to the rear panel (1), adapt, and fix in place.

    IMPORTANT Observe dimension (A).

    Clamping pliers (Standard)

  10. Reinforcements (6, 7, 8) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas R and S).
  11. Bracket (4) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area K).
  12. Crossmember (3) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas L and N).
  13. Crossmember (5) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas O and Q).
  14. Crossmember (3) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area M).
  15. Crossmember (5) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area P).
  16. Surface grind inert gas plug welds (areas M and P).

    Angular grinder

  17. Remove shavings.

    Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

  18. Punch holes in rear panel (1) with a diameter of 6 mm (areas T, V, W, Y and Z).

  19. Grind areas around holes (areas T, V, W, Y and Z) on rear panel (1) down to bare metal.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  20. Remove shavings.
