The new front longitudinal member part up to the passenger compartment floor area (1) is delivered without weld studs. The weld-in positions of the weld studs from the damaged front longitudinal member to the passenger compartment floor area (1) must be transferred to the new front longitudinal member part up to the passenger compartment floor area (1).
The next steps are shown on the component part of the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle in the event of damage.
- Punch holes on the front longitudinal member to the passenger compartment floor area (1) with a diameter of 6 mm (areas A, C, and F).

Hole punching pliers 6 mm
- Drill holes on the front longitudinal member to the passenger compartment floor area (1) with a diameter of 7 mm (areas B, D, and E).

Hand drill
- Grind mating surfaces on the front longitudinal member up to the passenger compartment floor area (1) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas and around the holes.

Rotary wire brush
- Remove shavings and drill chips.

Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
- Grind cross-hatched areas on the front longitudinal member up to the passenger compartment floor area (1) down to bare metal around the holes.

- Mark positions of the weld studs and place a punch mark on the respective marking.
For this purpose, use the noted dimensions for the weld studs from the damaged front longitudinal member up to the passenger compartment floor area (1).
- Rub area for weld studs down to bare metal.

- Weld on the weld studs.
- Clean weld joints.
