The following operation steps are shown on the right component part and must be similarly performed on the left side of the vehicle in the event of damage.

1. Mark separating point on outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (area A).

   Mark separating point along edge.

2. Cut separating point at outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (area A).

   Commercially available devices/tools 

   Body power jigsaw

3. Mark separating point on outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (area B).

   Take over dimension for separating point from vehicle.

4. Cut separating point at outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) (area B).

   Commercially available devices/tools 

   Body power jigsaw

5. Dispose of cut-off pieces.
6. Punch holes in outer corner pillar paneling upper section (1) with Ø 6 mm (areas C and D).

   Commercially available devices/tools 

   Hole punching pliers

7. Grind mating surfaces in cross-hatched areas and around holes (areas C and D) down to bare metal.

   Commercially available devices/tools 

   Rotary wire brush

8. Remove shavings.

   Commercially available devices/tools 

   Wet and dry vacuum cleaner
