The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle for model 907.633 and must be performed in a similar way in the event of damage on the right side of the vehicle.
- Scribe separation lines on front top inner longitudinal member (1) (areas A, B, and C)
Observe dimensions (A, B, C).
- Separate front top inner longitudinal member (1) at separating points (areas A, B, and C).
Do not cut too deeply (area C).
Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.
- Expose spot welds on front top inner longitudinal member (1) (areas D, D1 , and E).
- Cut out spot welds on front top inner longitudinal member (1) (areas D, D1
, and E).
Cut out spot welds through 2 panel thicknesses (area D1 ).
- Remove damaged front top inner longitudinal member (1).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas and around holes.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and milling chips.
- Zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges.
