Parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit

The parameterizable special module (PSM) control unit is networked, as standard, via the interior CAN and the body manufacturer CAN. The body manufacturer CAN can be internally switched so that it can work in two operating modes:

The following control units can, among other things, be connected to the body manufacturer CAN:

Optional peripherals that fulfill the CiA 447-3 Standard can be connected to the peripherals CAN, e. g. signaling system for emergency vehicles or two-way radios.

Battery

The starter battery is located in the driver footwell under a cover. With the equipment code E2I (Auxiliary battery for retrofitted consumers, interior), a deep-cycle-resistant fleece battery with 12 V/92 Ah is installed in the front passenger seat box in addition to the standard battery. The auxiliary battery is only available in combination with code E36 (Cutoff relay for additional battery). This relay prevents the starter battery from being discharged by the consumers that are connected to the auxiliary battery.

If installation in the front passenger seat box is not possible due to restrictions, the code E2M (Auxiliary battery for retrofitted consumers, engine compartment) is available in the Sprinter model 907. The 12 V/70 Ah auxiliary battery is installed on the left-hand side when viewed in the direction of travel. Furthermore, the code E2M (Auxiliary battery for retrofitted consumers, engine compartment) is freely selectable.

Solely the following equipment are connected to the auxiliary battery at the plant:

Fuses

The fuses are assigned to different fuse boxes:

Alternator

The Sprinter model 907 is equipped as standard with a 14 V/180 A alternator. In addition, the following special equipment or variants are available:
