Service-Information: Notes On Components Required For Print Documentation And Safety-Relevant Components - Si00.10-S-0033A

Type all (light vans, heavy vans)

Definition of safety-relevant components:

Safety-relevant are components or systems whose faultiness or failure could lead to an immediate danger to the life and limb of road users.

Safety-relevant components can affect the operational safety of the vehicle.

Possible criteria for safety functions:

On the basis of these criteria and other aspects to be assessed, it is the responsibility of the development department to determine whether the system, parts or components are to be classified as potentially security-relevant and, if applicable, are also considered security-relevant in VeDoc. If this is the case, the jerk documentation must be carried out using the possible criteria in VeDoc.

Requirements for back documentation of safety-relevant components:

For safety-relevant components, special requirements apply with regard to back documentation requirements when renewing as part of a repair.

The document "Updating VeDoc data in after-sales (return documentation)" (https://xentryportal.i.daimler.com/wps/portal) describes the relevant requirements.

This document can be found in the XENTRY Portal in the "Maintenance & Repair VeDoc training & support User information Information on how to update VeDoc data ".
