Service Information: Introduction Of Maintenance Reception Report - Si00.20-D-0050SG

Model 907

The Vans maintenance procedure has been revised on the basis of the Cars maintenance process for the market launch of the new Sprinter (models 907). The reception report introduces a unified standard for Vans. In future, performance of the maintenance will include a mandatory reception report and an optimized vehicle-specific service sheet.

The reception report for the service on the vehicle supports the Service Advisor in the service reception process and ensures transparency on the inspection work carried out in the service reception.

Furthermore, the reception report and the maintenance process are a topic in the market launch training course (T1712F) for the new Sprinter for Service Advisors. Please also use your in-house maintenance service training sessions to improve the professional skills of your employees.

The changeover will commence with WIS/ASRA release 07/18. From this release onwards, you will find the reception report in WIS/MSS. In order to comply with comprehensive maintenance according to the manufacturer guidelines in the future (see Extended Warranty Manual Retail (EWMR)), a completed reception report (to be filled in before maintenance) and processing the maintenance items listed on the service sheet are required.

The Vans reception report will also soon be integrated XENTRY Mobile under the "Vehicle Inspection" function (with mobile terminal/tablet).

FAQ list "New reception report, van"

Is it possible to convert the contents of the reception report into an operational checklist?

No, the reception report which applies to all model series is the document which is stipulated by Daimler AG and binding and is to be used in its original form.

For internal orders, e.g. for used vehicles/young stars which should receive a service before delivery, can the reception report be omitted?

No, the maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines is only fulfilled if the reception report and vehicle-specific service sheet are processed in full.

Does the reception report have to be taken into account separately for later ESKULAB queries for marking the regular service?

No, it is stored in the system as it has been up until now because this documents the implementation of the maintenance according to manufacturer guidelines as a whole.

Who has to sign the reception report or the service sheet?

The signature of the Service Advisor is required on the reception report and the signature of the mechanic is required on the service sheet.

Do the header data of the reception report have to be filled out in full and then entered again into the maintenance sheet?

Yes, the header data must be entered in full. If the reception report is processed using XENTRY Mobile, the header data is transferred automatically into the maintenance sheet when generated. If XENTRY Mobile is not available, the header data must be entered into the maintenance sheet (MSS) in full. For the reception report, it must then be ensured that a clear connection to the service sheet or repair order is created (e.g. customer name, vehicle license plate number or Rep. order number).

The visual check for condition and tire tread depth specified in the reception report excludes measuring the tire tread depth. Is that actually sufficient?

Yes, the wear marks and expertise of the Service Advisor allows reliable assessment and documentation in the table. A millimeter value no longer needs to be entered.

To what extent are the changes in the service reception process also considered in the quality checks of the "Workshop quality manual"?

In the course of the regular update, the test sheets on order and workshop quality are continually adapted.

Is it possible to work with copies for the reception report (within a model series) or do the documents have to be printed out individually for each vehicle?

The reception report is created specific to a model series and can be used as a copy template within a WIS release to simplify the process. The current WIS release must be observed.
