DC/AC Converter Function - GF54.10-P-2005LF

Model 222 with CODE U67 (230 V socket in rear passenger compartment)

Model 222 with CODE U80 (115 V socket)

Function requirements, general

IMPORTANT The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) sends the status of circuit 15 to the rear SAM control unit (N10/8) over the interior CAN (CAN B).

DC/AC converter, general

With code (U67) 230 V socket at the rear, AC voltage of 230 V is supplied through the 230V socket (X58/44).

With code (U80) 115V socket, AC voltage of 115 V is supplied through the 115 V socket (X58/34) (without code (224) Individual rear seat system design) or the 115 V socket, rear compartment center console (X58/42) (with code (224) Individual rear seat system design).

Only small electrical devices may be connected. The maximum available electrical continuous load is P = 150 W, for a short-term up to P = 300 W is permissible for t = 2 s.

Function sequence for DC/AC converter

The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) controls the function of the DC/AC converter control unit (N24/3). When a consumer is connected to the relevant socket, voltage is switched through the rear fuse and relay module (K40/5) to the control input for the DC/AC converter control unit. The DC/AC converter control unit converts the DC voltage of the on-board electrical system into AC voltage. An LED integrated in the socket indicates the availability of AC voltage. If the interior temperature of the DC/AC converter control unit rises above a defined limit value or if the output load exceeds the overload threshold of P = 160 W for t = 2 s, the DC/AC converter control unit switches off. A calculation method stored in the DC/AC converter control unit prevents the converter from constantly switching between on and off when it gets close to either limit value. If undervoltage is detected by the energy management system, the DC/AC converter control unit is switched off, thereby interrupting the power supply to the socket.

When a consumer is connected to the sockets, voltage is switched through to the control input of the DC/AC converter control unit (N24/3). The DC/AC converter control unit converts the DC voltage of the on-board electrical system into AC voltage.
