Location

The DC/AC converter control unit is located in the luggage compartment at the right, on a bracket behind the cover.

Task

With code (U67) 230-V socket in the rear, the 230V socket (X58/44) makes a 230 V AC voltage available.

With code (U80) 115V socket the 115 V socket (X58/34) (without code (224) Design individual rear seat system) or the 115 V socket for the rear center console (X58/42) (with code (224) Design individual rear seat system) supplies a 115 V AC voltage.

The DC/AC converter control unit converts the DC voltage of the onboard electrical system into AC voltage. Small electrical devices that require an AC voltage (e.g. video game consoles, mobile phone charger) can be connected to the sockets supplied in this manner. The maximum available electrical continuous load is P = 150 W, for a shortterm up to P = 300 W is permissible for t = 2 s.

The rear SAM control unit (N10/8) supplies the microswitches in sockets with voltage. If a consumer is now connected to the 115 V socket, this voltage is switched through to the control input of each DC/AC converter control unit.
