Connection scheme
- Check whether the branch-off lines of the blue 2-pin plug (2.6) are longer than the branch-off lines of the black 2-pin plug (2.7).
If the branch-off lines of the blue 2-pin plug (2.6) are shorter

Connect blue 2-pin plug (2.6) and black 2-pin plug (2.7) to respective branch-off lines Attach black 2-pin plug (2.7) to shorter branch-off lines.
The black 2-pin plugs (2.7) should be installed on the shorter branch-off lines for further installation Observe contact cavity assignment.
Routing diagram
Do not damage the electrical wiring harnesses by squeezing or pinching them.
This can cause a short circuit in the electric circuit.
- Place electrical wiring harness for illuminated door sill moldings (2) into front passenger footwell.
- Attach black 18-pin connector socket (2 3) of wiring harness for illuminated door sill moldings 2) to illuminated door sill molding control unit (1).
- Route brown line (BN) to front passenger footwell frame floor assembly ground point (W85/2) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Connect brown line (BN) to front passenger footwell frame floor assembly ground point (W85/2).
- Route left branch-off line (2 1) into driver footwell and fix in place with cable ties.
- Connect adapter wiring harness (3.2) to blue 2-pin plug (2.6).
- Route branch-off line with the black 2-pin plug (2.7) to installation location of the right front illuminated door sill molding.
- Route adapter wiring harness (3 2) with black 2-pin plug (3 4) to installation location of rear right illuminated door sill moldings.
- Route left branch-off line (2 1) to A-pillar and fix in place using cable ties and felt tape.
- Route branch-off line with the black 2-pin plug (2.7) to installation location of the left front illuminated door sill molding.
- Route twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) to the electrical connector for the potential distributor interior CAN (CAN B) cockpit (X30/34) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Compare contact cavity assignment of the black 2-pin plug sockets installed on the vehicle on the interior CAN potential distributor electrical connector (CAN B) cockpit (X30/34) with the contact cavity assignment of the black 2-pin connector socket (2.4)
If the contact cavity assignment of the black 2-pin connector socket (2.4) is different

Adapt contact cavity assignment of the black 2-pin connector socket (2.4).
- Mount black 2-pin connector socket (2.4) to any free slot on the electrical connection for potential distributor interior CAN (CAN B), cockpit (X30/34).
- Route red line (RD) with violet fuse holder (2.5) to fuse and relay module on driver's side (K40/6) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Mount violet fuse holder (2.5) to slot "S2" of fuse and relay module on driver's side (K40/6).
- Insert a fuse with a fuse rating of 5 A into the violet fuse holder (2.5).
If there is no fuse in the violet fuse holder (2.5).
- Connect adapter wiring harness (3.1) to blue 2-pin plug (2.6).
- Route adapter wiring harness (3 1) with black 2-pin plug (3.5) to installation location of rear left illuminated door sill moldings.
