	Preparatory activity
1	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0"	The transmitter key must be kept outside the vehicle; otherwise the passenger compartment may be blocked off during the test.
2	Get in and close doors and side windows	Doors must not be locked.

3	Press the left footwell emergency alarm system button (1)
4	Check optical alarm	The high beams and hazard warning system must flash. Otherwise there is a malfunction. If complaint present ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
5	Check acoustic alarm	The acoustic alarm must be audible via the panic alarm system (PAS) external speaker (4). Otherwise there is a malfunction. If complaint present ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
6	Check vehicle locking	The central locking must lock the vehicle. Otherwise there is a malfunction. If complaint present ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
7	Check air recirculation flap	The air recirculation flap must close. Otherwise there is a malfunction. Air recirculation flap closes audibly. Observe whether the air recirculation flap closes audibly. If complaint present ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
8	Deactivate emergency alarm by pressing the intercom system (speak) button (6)
9	Press the right footwell emergency alarm system button (2)
10	Repeat operation steps 4 to 8
11	Press the rear center console emergency alarm system button (3)
12	Repeat operation steps 4 to 8.

13	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "2" (circuit 15)
14	Operate the intercom system (hear) button (7)
	Check
15	Check left outside mirror panic alarm system (PAS) microphone (5) and right outside mirror panic alarm system (PAS) microphone (8) and check center instrument panel speaker (9)	External noises must be audible via center instrument panel speaker (9). Otherwise there is a malfunction. Aid of helper required. If complaint present ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.

16	Operate the intercom system (speak) button (6)
	Check
17	Check inside rearview mirror microphone (10) and panic alarm system (PAS) external speaker (4)	Internal noises must be audible via panic alarm system (PAS) external speaker (4). Otherwise there is a malfunction. Aid of helper required. If complaint present ↓ Rectify problem subject to separate repair order.
