Prepare Wheel Well For Installation - Ar62.20-P-1200-19LFS
Model 222
with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Grind mating surfaces on connecting carrier (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Grind mating surfaces on wheel well (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas A).
- Grind mating surfaces on wheel well (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Mark rivet holes on the wheel well (1) and drill with a diameter of 6.7 mm and countersink (areas C).
Dimensions :
a = approx. 12 mm
To fit the wheel well (1) optimally, countersink the rivet holes until level surfaces occur.
- Deburr rivet holes on wheel well (1) on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Install adapter panel on engine side (4) and adapter panel on wheel side (5) on wheel well (1), fit and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes on the adapter panel on the engine side (4) and adapter panel on the wheel side (5) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas C).
Drill rivet holes through present rivet holes in wheel well (1).
- Remove adapter panel on engine side (4) and adapter panel on wheel side (5).
- Deburr rivet holes on adapter panel on engine side (4) and adapter panel on wheel side (5) on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to adapter panel on engine side (4) and adapter panel on wheel side (5) in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Observe manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of adhesive.
- Install adapter panel on engine side (4) and adapter panel on wheel side (5) and fix in place.
- Using the rivet press tool, rivet adapter panel on the engine side (4) and adapter panel on the wheel side (5) with flow form rivets with a clamping range of 3.35 to 4.1 mm "S2" (areas C).
- Drill rivet holes on the pedal floor panel (3) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (area D).
To fit the pedal floor panel (3) optimally, countersink the rivet holes until level surfaces occur.
- Deburr rivet holes on the wheel well on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Grind mating surfaces on pedal floor panel (3) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
- Grind mating surfaces on pedal floor panel (3) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces (areas E).
- Cut two adapter plates (6) to size.
Dimensions :
a3 = approx. 30 mm
b3 = approx. 50 mm
- Chamfer edges on adapter plates (6).
- Install adapter plates (6) on pedal floor panel (3), fit and fix in place.

Drill rivet holes through present holes in pedal floor panel (3).
- Remove adapter panels (6).
- Deburr rivet holes on adapter panels (6) on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to adapter plates (6) body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Observe manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of adhesive.
- Install adapter plates (6) and fix in place.
- Using the rivet press tool, rivet adapter plates (6) with flow form rivets with a clamping range of 3.35 to 4.1 mm "S2" (areas D).
- Grind mating surface down to bare metal and weld ground bolt (7) onto the wheel well (1).
Dimensions :
m1 = approx 85 mm
m2 = approx 25 mm
