Model 217, 222 

The electric seats function description comprises the following subfunctions, which are described in separate documents:

• Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), function

Electrical seat adjustment (ESA), function 

The following electrical driver and front passenger seat settings can be made with the ESA:

• Seat fore/aft position
• Backrest inclination
• Seat height
• Seat inclination
• Seat cushion length (model 222 with code P64 (Memory package) or model 217)
• Head restraint height
• Head restraint angle (model 222 with code 439 (EASY ADJUST luxury head restraint) or model 217)

In model 222 with code 275 (Memory package) or model 217, up to three different seat positions can be stored and retrieved through the memory function.

Electrical seat adjustment (ESA [ESE]) in rear, function (model 222 With Code 223 (Electrically adjustable rear bench seat)) 

The following electric settings on the left and right rear seat can be made with the ESA:

• Backrest inclination
• Seat cushion inclination
• Head restraint height
• Head restraint inclination
• Leg rest inclination (with code 453 (Rear reclining seats))
• Leg rest fore/aft adjustment (with code 453 (Rear reclining seats))

The memory function can be used to store and retrieve up to three different seat positions.

Lumbar support adjustment, function (Except Code 432 (Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)) 

In order to provide optimum support for the vertebral column, the backrest on the driver and front passenger seat each has a lumbar support unit integrated.

Multicontour seat (MKS), function (With Code 432 (Left and right dynamic multicontour seat)) 

In order to provide optimum support for the vertebral column, three air cushions are integrated in the backrest of the driver or front passenger seat in the lumbar support area. The contour and surface hardness of the backrest and the seat cushion of the driver and front passenger seat can also be changed individually. This is done by air cushions that can be inflated independently of each other. The dynamic function boosts the lateral support when cornering by automatically increasing the pressure in whichever lateral support air cushion is on the outside of the curve. In order to prevent back tension during long journeys, the multicontour seat is also equipped with a massage function.

Multicontour seat (MKS), function (model 222 With Code 406 (Multicontour seats in rear)) 

The contour and the surface hardness of the backrest and the seat cushion of the rear seats can be changed individually. This is done by air cushions that can be inflated independently of each other. In order to prevent back tension during long journeys, the multicontour seat is also equipped with a massage function.

Rear head restraint adjustment, function 

By lowering the rear head restraints, the driver can have a clear view through the rear window where required. With model 222 with code 223 (Electrically adjustable rear bench seat), the head restraints can be raised automatically.

Electric steering column adjustment (ELE), function 

The adjust/store steering column function permits the adjustment and on model 222 with code 275 (Memory package) or on model 217, it permits the storage of different steering column positions. The easy entry/exit function allows the driver to get in or out of the vehicle easily. In the process the steering column is moved upwards before getting in or out.
