Location 

The reversible emergency tensioning retractor is at the bottom of the respective B-pillar.

Tasks 

The reversible emergency tensioning retractor has the job of tensioning the seat belt in certain hazardous situations by actuating an integrated actuator motor in order to minimize the consequences of a potential accident. If the seat belt adjustment function is active, the seat belt slack is reduced when the seat belt is fastened.

The tasks are subdivided as follows:

Reading in of signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connection:

User interface CAN 

The following signals are read in over the user interface CAN among other things:

Evaluation of input factors 

The read-in input factors are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor whereupon the integrated components are actuated and the CAN signals issued.

Transmitting signals 

The reversible emergency tensioning retractor transmits signals via the following connection:

User interface CAN 

The following signal is transmitted via the user interface CAN, among other things:
