	Remove/install
1	Disconnect ground line of battery		AR54.10-P-0003LF
2	Open rear door (1)
3	Remove top cover (2) and bottom cover (3) from left or right B-pillar		AR68.30-P-4700LF
4	Remove screw/bolt (5) and remove belt guide bracket (6) from belt height adjustment (4)	Bolt at front belt guide bracket	*BA91.40-P-1005-01T
5	Swivel air duct (7) to one side and forward until screws/bolts (8) on belt retractor (10) are accessible	Do not swivel the air duct (7) too far. Otherwise the air duct (7) may kink.
6	Remove screw/bolt (8) from belt retractor (10)	Bolt for front belt retractor	*BA91.40-P-1004-01T
7	Remove belt retractor (10) from B-pillar
8	Detach electrical connections (9, 11, 12)
9	Detach wiring harness from belt retractor (10)
10	Remove belt retractor (10) with seat belt	When replacing belt retractor (10), outer shells (cover for mechanical components) of belt end fitting are to be replaced. If the belt retractor (10) is replaced, the defective belt retractor (10) must be disposed of properly.
11	Install in the reverse order
12	Connect diagnostic system and perform initial startup of PRE-SAFE

13	Check seat belt slack reduction	Function requirements: Function activated in instrument cluster.
