DYNAMIC SELECT Function - GF32.00-P-0002LF
Model 222
as of model year 2018
DYNAMIC SELECT function
The DYNAMIC SELECT function integrates essential vehicle systems that determine the driving experience. This affects the vehicle's electric power steering, the AIRmatic system, the ECO start/stop function and the drivetrain. Here, the characteristics of the accelerator pedal response, vehicle-speed dependent support of the electric power steering, shift points of the automatic transmission and accelerator pedal curve are also affected for manual transmissions. In addition, the ECO start/stop function can be activated or deactivated in the "Individual transmission mode".
The following transmission modes are available:
- Eco (except model 217 With Code 487 (MAGIC BODY CONTROL))
- Comfort
- Curve (With Code 487 (MAGIC BODY CONTROL))
- Sport
- Sport Plus (on model 217)
- Individual
The DYNAMIC SELECT switch (A40/9s19) (with code 448 (Touchpad)) or the DYNAMIC SELECT switch (N72s19) (with code 446 (Touchpad only)) can be used by the driver to switch between the various pre-configured drive programs and an "Individual drive program". The driver can use the DYNAMIC SELECT switch to select the required transmission mode and the driver receives operation feedback in the instrument cluster (A1) as well as in the audio/COMAND display (A40/8). The head unit (A26/17) generates the signal for displaying the audio/COMAND display, and sends it over a high-speed video link (HSVL).
The signal from the DYNAMIC SELECT switch (with code 448 (Touchpad)) is read in by the Audio/COMAND control panel (A40/9). The Audio/COMAND control panel sends the signal over the telematics CAN (CAN A), the head unit, user interface CAN (CAN HMI), the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) and the suspension FlexRay (Flex E) to the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4).
The signal from the DYNAMIC SELECT switch (with code 446 (Touchpad only)) is read in by the lower control panel (N72). The lower control panel sends the signal over the LCP-LIN (LIN A3), touchpad (A105), telematics CAN, head unit, user interface CAN, electronic ignition lock control unit and the suspension FlexRay to the Electronic Stability Program control unit.
The Electronic Stability Program control unit puts the information for the chosen transmission mode on the suspension FlexRay. The control units relevant for the new transmission mode receive the information and switch to the stored parameters for the particular transmission mode. The pre-configured parameters are listed in the following table.

Valid basic settings will be made for the chosen transmission mode each time there is a transmission mode change. As a result, the basic settings of the chosen transmission mode override the current settings.
