| 1 | Read out variant coding from AIRmatic control unit (N51/3) using diagnostic system | When replacing AIRmatic control unit (N51/3) | |

| 2 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key | ||
| 3 | Move the front passenger seat into the rearmost position | ||
| 4 | Remove floor mat and fold back floor covering (1) in front passenger footwell | ||
| 5 | Unscrew nuts (2) from step plate (3) | ||
| 6 | Fold down step plate (3) | ||
| 7 | Unscrew bolts (4), remove retaining frame (5) and place to one side | ||
| 8 | Disconnect electrical connectors (6) from AIRmatic control unit (N51/3) | ||
| 9 | Remove AIRmatic control unit (N51/3) | ||
| 10 | Install in the reverse order | ||
| 11 | Read out fault memory using the diagnostic system and delete if necessary | ||
