Press Elastomer Bearing Of Spring Link Out/In - AR33.15-P-0170-02LF

Model 217 (except 217.377/378/379/387/388/477/478/479/487/488) 

Model 222 (except 222.077/177/178/179/187/188)

IMPORTANT Use the following special tools: SPECIAL TOOL press-out/in tool and SPECIAL TOOL press-in tool.

IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Press out/in tool includes: sleeve (01) (220 589 06 43 08). SPECIAL TOOL Press-in tool includes: thrust piece (02) (211 589 00 43 04).

Press out the elastomer bearing (2b) 

  1. Place sleeve (01) on press.
  2. Place spring control arm (2a) with chamfered side facing upwards onto sleeve (01).
  3. Place thrust piece (02) on spring link (2a).
  4. Pre-tension press and align spring link (2a), sleeve (01) and thrust piece (02) with each other.
  5. Press out the elastomer bearing (2b).

    Press in the elastomer bearing (2b) 

  6. Place sleeve (01) on press.
  7. Place spring control arm (2a) with chamfered side facing upwards onto sleeve (01).
  8. Position new elastomer bearing (2b) with crush ring (2c) on spring control arm (2a).

    IMPORTANT The marking (M) on the new elastomer bearing (2b) must match with the marking (N) on the spring control arm (2a). Position a new elastomer bearing (2b) corresponding to the required camber change (picture C, D, E, F, G, H).

    IMPORTANT Model 217 (except 217.377/378/379/387/388/477/478/479/487/488) except code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC)) Model 222 (except 222.077/177/178/179/187/188) except code 487 (Active Body Control (ABC)) The broader bar (K) must always point downward.

  9. Place thrust piece (02) onto new elastomer bearing (2b).
  10. Pre-tension press and spring control arm (2a), sleeve (01), new elastomer bearing (2b) and thrust piece (02) with each other.
  11. Press in new elastomer bearing (2b) until thrust piece (02) makes contact with crush ring (2c).

    IMPORTANT Turning the crush ring (2c) must not be possible.

  12. Release press and remove crush ring (2c).
  13. Turn over spring control arm (2a) and place onto sleeve (01).
  14. Place thrust piece (02) onto new elastomer bearing (2b).
  15. Press new elastomer bearing (2b) into the center in the spring control arm (2a).
