Shown in alternator mode (internal combustion engine running, electrical machine (A79/1) acts as an alternator) 

IMPORTANT The percentage next to the battery symbol shows the current charge level of the high-voltage battery (A100g1).

The internal combustion engine runs and drives the electrical machine as an alternator. The generated 3-phase AC voltage is converted into direct voltage (high voltage) by the power electronics control unit (N129/1) and stored in the high-voltage battery.

The power flow takes place from the internal combustion engine onto the rear axle. The internal combustion engine also drives the electrical machine as an alternator. The generated 3-phase AC voltage is converted into direct voltage (high voltage) by the power electronics control unit and stored in the high-voltage battery.

The power flow only takes from the internal combustion engine and from the electrical machine on the rear axle.

The high-voltage battery supplies the electrical machine with electrical energy. To do this, the power electronics control unit converts the direct voltage (high voltage) into 3-phase AC voltage. The electrical machine reacts by generating a torque, which acts on the drive supportively to the torque of the internal combustion engine.

The power flow takes place from the rear axle onto the electrical machine.

The kinetic energy of the vehicle is converted by the electrical machine into electrical energy (3-phase AC voltage). This is converted by the power electronics control unit into direct voltage (high voltage) and charges the high-voltage battery with it.
