Prepare Upper Front Longitudinal Member - Ar62.20-P-1286-02LF
MODEL 217, 222
The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separating points on upper front longitudinal member (1) and cut (areas A and B).
Take separation points from vehicle.
If the connection points in areas A and B should be crimped, observe overlap of 5 mm.
- Cut out spot welds on upper front longitudinal member (1) (areas and C).
- Remove reinforcement (3).
- Separate fastening bolts and grind down flat (area E).

- Grind mating surfaces on upper front longitudinal member (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

- Grind mating surfaces on upper front longitudinal member (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Remove grinding dust.
