CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

  Preparation     
1 Prepare adhesive cartridge.   AR77.21-P-1000-01A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Adapter Fig 3
REMOVING Remove     
2 Remove left and right drip rail.   AR88.80-P-4000LF
3 Remove multifunction antenna.   AR82.70-P-8951LF
4 Remove seal (2) between rear cover (1) and rear panoramic roof (3).    
5 Determine gap dimension (A) between rear cover (1) and rear window (4) and note.    
6 Cover left and right paint surfaces next to rear cover (1) with shields. SPECIAL TOOL Set of shields Fig 2
WARNING Risk of injury  caused by slipping when clamping blade in the multicutter and by splinters when cutting out bonded components Wear cut-proof gloves and safety glasses. Always interrupt air or current supply when changing the cutting blade. AS58.00-Z-0001-01A
7 Saw off an approx. 1 cm wide strip at the rear edge of the rear cover (1). NOTES
Saw carefully.
Otherwise, the top seal on the rear window (4) may be damaged.
 
    NOTES
Observe cutting depth when sawing.
Otherwise the paneling on the rear roof frame can be damaged.
IMPORTANT Use oscillating saw with round sawing blade.
 
WARNING Risk of injury  due to snapping or warming up of cutting wire and due to splinters when cutting out glued panoramic roofs Wear cut-proof gloves and safety glasses. AS77.21-Z-0002-01A 
8 Cut out rear cover (1) with cutting wire and remove from panorama roof frame.    
INSTALLING Install     
9 Prepare rear cover (1) for installation.   AR77.21-P-0751-01LF 
10 Prepare body flange for rear panoramic roof (3) for installation.   AR77.21-P-0751-02LF 
11 Apply adhesive material to the rear cover (1).   AR77.21-P-0751-03LF 
12 Install rear cover (1).   AR77.21-P-0751-04LF 
    SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge Fig 1
13 Remove feeler gauges. NOTES
Remove feeler gauges only after adhesive material has cured.
Otherwise gap dimension (A) and transitions (B) can change.
 
14 Install gasket (2).    
15 Install multifunction antenna.   AR82.70-P-8951LF
16 Install left and right drip rail.   AR88.80-P-4000LF
CLEANING Clean     
17 Clean working area.
