Prepare Complete Rear Fender For Installation - Ar63.50-P-1401-02LFS

Model 222.1/9 

with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Model 222.1

    with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Mark separating points on rear fender (1) and cut (areas A and B).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation points from vehicle.

  2. Model 222.9

    with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Mark separating points on rear fender (1) and cut (areas F, E and G).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation points from vehicle.

  3. Model 222.9

    with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  4. Model 222.9

    with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Remove grinding dust.

  5. Model 222.9

    with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

  6. Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
  7. Remove grinding dust.
  8. Apply zinc dust paint to insides in crosshatched areas.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area C).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

    Rear fender (1), inside, shown on MODEL 222.1 

  9. Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
  10. Remove grinding dust.
