Install front illuminated door sill molding wiring harness
Do not damage the electrical wiring harnesses by squeezing or pinching them.
This can cause a short circuit in the electric circuit.
- Place front illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) into front passenger footwell.
- Attach black 18-pin connector of front illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) to illuminated door sill molding control unit (1).
- Route brown line (BN) to front passenger footwell frame floor assembly ground point (W85/2) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Connect brown line (BN) to front passenger footwell frame floor assembly ground point (W85/2)

- Route red line (RD), twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) and left front illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.1) into the driver footwell and fix in place with cable ties.
Use a pull-through device.
The left front illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.1) is labeled.
- Route left front illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.1) and red line (RD) to A-pillar and secure with felt tape.
- Route left front illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.1) along existing lines through the cable duct and fix in place with cable ties.
- Route red line (RD) to the left fuse and relay module (K40/6) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Attach violet fuse holder (2.6) to the slot "S2" of the left fuse and relay module (K40/6).
- Route twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) along the A-pillar and under the instrument panel to the cockpit interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/34) and fix in place with cable ties.
- Attach black 2-pin connector of twisted brown line (BN) and brown/red line (BN/RD) to any free slot of the cockpit interior CAN (CAN B) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/34).
- Route right front illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.2) along existing lines through the cable duct and fix in place with cable ties.
Route right front illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (2.2) so that black 2-pin plug can be clipped into intended cutout at a later stage.
Install rear illuminated door sill molding wiring harness
- Connect white 6-pin plug (2.3) of front illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (2) with the white 6-pin connector (3.3) of rear illuminated door sill molding wiring harness (3).
- Route left rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.1) into the driver footwell and fix in place with cable ties.
The left rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.1) is labeled.
- Route right rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.2) along existing lines and into the cable ducts to the B-pillar and fix in place with cable ties.
The right rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.2) is labeled.
- Route right rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.2) along existing lines and into the cable ducts to the installation location of the right rear illuminated door sill molding.
- Route left rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.1) along existing lines and into the cable ducts to the B-pillar and fix in place with cable ties.
- Route left rear illuminated door sill molding branch-off line (3.1) along existing lines and into the cable ducts to the installation location of the left rear illuminated door sill molding.
