Operating instructions
Via the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110) and right multifunction steering wheel button group (S111) various menu levels can be shown in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1):
- It is possible to scroll in the main menu via the system selection button (S110s3).
- It is possible to scroll within a menu in the submenus or in lists using the scroll forward and back button (S110s1).
- The "Back" and voice control system off button (S110s4) can be used in each menu or submenu to jump into the next higher menu level.
- The "O.K." button. (S110s6) confirms the corresponding selection or displayed messages.
All the buttons of the multifunction steering wheel button group are always installed. However the available functions depend on the equipment of the vehicle.

"Trip" menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Trip" menu:
- Show standard display or reset trip distance
- Show or reset trip computer "After start"
- Show or reset trip computer "After reset"
- Show range and current consumption indicator
- Display digital speedometer
- "ECO score" display (driving style analysis) (except Model 166.064/074/075/874 and except 292.364/375)
"Audio" menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Audio" menu:
- Select radio station
- Operate CD player/DVD changer/DVD audio/MP3
- Operate DVD video
- Operate TV
"Tel" menu
The name of the selected mobile telephone network is shown in the telephone menu when the function is switched on. It is still possible then to scroll through the stored telephone book and select an entry.
When the function is switched off the text "Telephone Off" is displayed.
If a telephone is not detected when the function is switched on, the message "Ready for Bluetooth telephony" appears.
"Assist." menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Assist." menu, depending on the equipment installed:
- Assist graphic (status indication of driver assistance systems)
- "Traffic Sign Assist" ON or OFF (with code 513 (Traffic Sign Assist))
- Switch "ESP" to active or passive
- "Steer Assist" ON or OFF (with code 266 (DISTRONIC PLUS with Steer Assist and Stop & Go Pilot), with code 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist) or with code 235 (Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC))
- Switch "COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST" on or off (with CODE 258 (COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST))
- Show "Proximity graphic" (with CODE 266 (DISTRONIC PLUS with Steer Assist and Stop & Go Pilot))
- Switch "PRE-SAFE® brake on or off (with CODE 271 (Autonomous brake intervention/pedestrian protection) or with CODE 300 (PRE-SAFE® brake))
- Switch "Attention Asst." on/off
- Switch "Blind Spot Assist" on or off (with CODE 234 (Blind Spot Assist) or CODE 237 (Active Blind Spot Assist))
- Switch "Lane Keeping Assist" on or off (with CODE 476 (Lane Keeping Assist) or CODE 238 (Active Lane Keeping Assist))
"Service" menu
The following functions can be selected in the "Service" menu:
- Call up display messages
- Electronically check tire pressure loss warning (with CODE 477 (Tire pressure loss warning)) or tire pressure (with CODE 475 (Tire pressure monitor))
- Service interval indicator "ASSYST PLUS"
- "Coolant" display (with CODE ME05 (HYBRID DRIVE 80KW VARIANT (INCLUDING PLUG-IN)))
"Settings" menu
Changes to the following settings can be made in the "Settings" menu:
- "Instrument cluster"
- Lights
- "Vehicle"
- "Heater" (with CODE 228 (Stationary heater))
- "Comfort"
- "Manufacturer default setting"

In the submenu "Light", e.g. the "Low beams: Setting for right-hand traffic" menu item can be used to switch the low beams to right-hand traffic, or accordingly to left-hand traffic.
The roof load recognition can be switched on or off in the "Vehicle" submenu of the "Settings" menu via the menu item "Roof load recognition".
"Off-road" menu (with CODE 430 (On- & off-road package))
The "Off-road" menu displays the compass data. Depending on the vehicle equipment, with CODE 430 (On & Off-road package), the current condition of the differential lock and the rear axle differential lock as well as, on Model 166, the status of the AIRMATIC are shown.
"AMG" menu (on Model 166.064/074/075/874 and 292.374/375)
Various system information is displayed in the "AMG" menu.
The following submenus can be called up:
- "Warm Up" submenu
- "Setup" submenu
- "Racetimer" submenu
Submenus are shown in two display menus. The following information is shown in the upper static display level:
- Vehicle speed
- Gear range engaged (e.g.: P, R, N, D) or gear (1 to 7)
- Upshift indicator "UP"
An active "UP" upshift indicator is shown in red. If the "AMG" submenu is not activated, an active upshift indicator overlays all information displayed.
The specific information of the individual submenus is shown in the lower dynamic display level.
"Warm Up" submenu
The following information can be displayed in the "Warm up" menu:
- Engine oil temperature (blue display at T < 80°C, white display at T > 80°C)
- Coolant temperature
- Stop/start active/inactive (additional information on "ECO" symbol in multifunction display)
"Setup" submenu
The following information can be displayed in the "Setup" menu:
- Transmission mode setting (e.g.: "E+", "C", "S", "S+" or "M")
- Status of Electronic Stability Program (ESP®) ("ESP ON", "Sport Handling Mode" or "ESP OFF")
"Racetimer" submenu
Lap times driven as under racing conditions can be stopped in the "Race Timer" submenu.
The following information is displayed:
- Current lap time
- Best lap time
- "Race EVal" submenu:
- Lap display
- Lap times per lap
- Maximum speed reached per lap
- Average speed per lap
- Travel distance per lap
- "Race AllVal" submenu:
- Total lap time
- Maximum speed achieved over all laps
- Overall average speed
- Overall travel distance
