- Expose spot welds on inner rear side wall (2) and cut out (area A).
- Expose spot welds on inner rear side wall (2) and drill through two panel thickness with 6.7 mm bit (area B1, B2, B3 and B4).
- Expose spot welds on outer C-pillar (1) and cut out (areas C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6 and C7).
- Expose spot welds on outer C-pillar (1) and cut out through two panel thicknesses (area C8, C9 and C10).
- Scribe separating point on inner rear side wall (1) and cut (area D1, D2, D3 and D4).
The separation points in area D1, D2, D3 and D4 should facilitate removal. Separating point can be selected freely.
- Heat outer C-pillar (1) in cross-hatched areas with hot air gun.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove damaged outer C-pillar (1) and inner rear side wall (2).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
