Remove/Install Front Seat Cushion Cover - AR91.18-P-1800GQA

except code 401 (Climatised front seats)

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove seat cushion IMPORTANT Model 166, 292 with code U10 (Front passenger seat with weight sensor) except code 401 (Climatised front seats)
The seat cushion cover for the front passenger seat cushion may not be removed.

2 Remove tray for fire extinguisher Model 166, 292 with code 682 (Fire extinguisher) except code 401 (Climatised front seats)  
3 Unhook cover (1) from seat cushion frame SPECIAL TOOL Extraction hook Fig 2
4 Slip cover (1) over padding (2)    
5 Lift cover (1) until wire rings (4) are accessible    
6 Remove wire rings (4) on inside at padding (2) using suitable tool NOTES Carefully remove residues from wire rings (4). Otherwise, the padding (2) and/or the cover (1) can be damaged.  
7 Remove cover (1) from upholstery (2)    
INSTALLING Install     
8 Align seams of cover (1) and position in cutouts of padding (2)    
9 Place respective staple rail (3) of cover (1) onto corresponding staple wire (5) of padding (2) IMPORTANT The number of staple wires (5) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
IMPORTANT The instructions must be carried out independently at all attachment points of the cover (1).
 
10 Insert new wire ring (4) (arrow B) in the padding clip pliers (S) and hook into the eyelet of the respective staple rail (3) IMPORTANT The instructions must be carried out independently at all attachment points of the cover (1).  
    SPECIAL TOOL Padding clip pliers Fig 3
11 Hook new wire ring (4) into staple wire (5) of padding (2) and compress padding clip pliers (S) until wire ring (4) is fully closed (arrow C) IMPORTANT The number of staple wires (5) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.
IMPORTANT The instructions must be carried out independently at all attachment points of the cover (1).
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Padding clip pliers Fig 3
12 Slip cover (1) over padding (2) IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of cover (1) on padding (2).  
13 Hook cover (1) with padding (2) to seat cushion frame IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating of padding (2) in seat cushion frame.  
14 Install tray for fire extinguisher Model 166, 292 with code 682 (Fire extinguisher) except code 401 (Climatised front seats)  
15 Install seat cushion   AR91.10-P-3310GQ
