TRANSMISSION 725.0 up to model year 2015 

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. 	Fill with transmission oil
1	Put transmission into neutral position.
2	Operate parking brake.
3.1	Remove lower section of soundproofing at rear.	Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 with engine 642 up to model year 2015 Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 with engine 651 up to model year 2015	AR94.30-P-5300EW
3.2	Remove rear bottom engine compartment lining.	Transmission 725.0 in model 212, 218 with engine 278 up to model year 2015 Transmission 725.0 in model 218 with engine 276 up to model year 2015	AR61.20-P-1105EW
4	Check oil pan version. Notes on oil pan versions		AH27.10-P-0002-01EWN
		If the old oil pan version is installed, ↓ Replace oil pan. Transmission 725.0 in model 207 up to model year 2015	AR27.10-P-7030EWM

5	Unscrew bayonet coupling (1), install adapter (2) and connect oil dispenser. 000 588 06 82 00 Oil dispenser	Before filling the transmission, set air pressure on oil dispenser to maximum 2 bar  . Otherwise, the oil pan may be damaged if the filling pressure is too high.	WS18.00-P-0026B

6	Pump 8 l of transmission oil into transmission. Automatic transmission fluids (ATF) (specification 236.17)	Observe Specifications for Operating Fluids. Otherwise damage to the transmission may occur. On transmissions that have been repaired, add the quantity of transmission oil drained +0.5 l.	BB00.40-P-0236-17A

7	Start engine.
8	Connect vehicle diagnosis system and check oil level.	Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 up to model year 2015 In the diagnostic system, call up the "Adjust oil level" menu item. Throughout the entire test, the parking brake must not be released and no other disturbance variables may be generated, that are not required for the work procedure. All these factors would result in the diagnostic system measurement being canceled and then require a restart.	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
9.1	Bring transmission oil temperature to 90 °C/194 °F.	Vehicles with additional oil cooler and where the additional oil cooler was previously removed or replaced. Thermostat opens at 90 °C/194 °F. Engine speed 2500 rpm, selector lever in position "P".
9.2	Bring transmission oil temperature to 35 °C/95 °F.	Vehicles without additional oil cooler or vehicles with additional oil cooler where additional oil cooler was not removed/replaced beforehand.
10.1	Switch off engine and allow transmission oil to cool down.	Vehicles with additional oil cooler and where the additional oil cooler was previously removed or replaced.
10.2	Switch off engine.	Vehicles without additional oil cooler or vehicles with additional oil cooler where additional oil cooler was not removed/replaced beforehand.
11	Determine transmission oil temperature using diagnostic system.	Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 up to model year 2015	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
12	Start engine and run in selector lever position P.
13	Pump transmission oil into transmission using oil dispenser. 000 588 06 82 00 Oil dispenser		WS18.00-P-0026B
		Observe Specifications for Operating Fluids. Otherwise damage to the transmission may occur. Filling capacity	*BF27.00-P-1001-011
	Adjust to correct level
14	In the vehicle diagnosis system, select the "Adjust oil level" menu item and follow the instructions from the vehicle diagnosis system.	Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 up to model year 2015	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
15	Determine transmission oil temperature using diagnostic system.	Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 up to model year 2015 As the overflow tube (3) within the oil pan is designed for operation at the specified transmission oil temperature, this temperature should never exceed the level indicated. 17	Drain a constant flow of oil (arrow A) at the specified transmission oil temperature until only a thin oil stream exits (see correct oil filling capacity (arrow B)).	Transmission 725.0 in model 207, 212, 218 up to model year 2015 The diagnostic system performs the "Adjust oil level" oil adjusting function. Follow the instructions issued by the diagnostic system. If the oil flow is not constant after opening the drain screw, the oil level has to be corrected and the oil adjusting function performed again.	AD00.00-P-2000-04A
18	Screw in bayonet coupling (1).
19	Check transmission for leaktightness and proper operation.
