1	Check piston rod for surface damage, bending and for moving in the guide bush without jamming	The shock absorbers may have to be disposed of.
2	Check damper for external oil leaks	A thin film of oil on the shock absorber is permissible. The shock absorbers may have to be disposed of.
3	Check elastomer bearings in housing eye	The elastomer bearings must be seated securely in the housing eye and must not be cracked or damaged. Damaged elastomer bearings can cause thumping noises if installed. The shock absorbers may have to be disposed of.
