Location
The active roll stabilization control unit is located in the control unit box under the left front seat.
Tasks
The active roll stabilization control unit regulates the hydraulic oil flow of the hydraulic pump, the oil pressure in the hydraulic system of the Active Roll Stabilization and the rotation direction of the hydraulic front axle stabilizer actuator and the hydraulic rear axle stabilizer actuator.
Input and output signals
The following input signals are evaluated by the active roll stabilization control unit and the corresponding output signals output:
- Direct input signals
- Direct output signals
- Chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1)
Direct input signals
- Circuit 31
- Circuit 15R
- Active roll stabilization lateral acceleration sensor (B24/20)
- Active roll stabilization front axle pressure sensor 1 (B4/28)
- Active roll stabilization front axle pressure sensor 2 (B4/29)
- Active roll stabilization rear axle pressure sensor 1 (B4/26)
- Active roll stabilization rear axle pressure sensor 2 (B4/27)
Direct output signals
- Active roll stabilization rear axle directional control valve (Y36/9)
- Active roll stabilization rear axle pressure regulating valve (Y36/10)
- Active roll stabilization front axle directional control valve (Y36/11)
- Active roll stabilization front axle pressure regulating valve (Y36/12)
- Active roll stabilization intake throttle valve (Y86/2)
- Active roll stabilization safety valve (Y86/3)
Chassis CAN 1
The active roll stabilization control unit communicates via chassis CAN 1 with the following control units:
- Instrument cluster (A1), via chassis CAN 2 (CAN E2) and the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
- Electronic ignition switch control unit
- CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine)
- Fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4), via the drive train CAN (CAN C) and chassis CAN 1 using the CDI control unit interface (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit interface (with gasoline engine)
- Steering column tube module control unit (N80)
- SAM control unit (N10), via the interior CAN (CAN B) and electronic ignition lock control unit
- Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4)
- Lower control panel control unit (N72), via the interior CAN and electronic ignition lock control unit
- The offroad control panel control unit (N72/3) (with CODE 430 (On & Offroad package)) over the center console switch LIN (LIN B12), the SAM control unit, interior CAN, electronic ignition lock control unit, the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (with gasoline engine) or CDI control unit (with diesel engine) and the AIRmatic control unit (N51/3) (with CODE 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS)))
- Transfer case control unit (N15/7) (with CODE 430 (On-road & offroad package)), via the drive train CAN and chassis CAN 1 using the CDI control unit interface (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit interface (with gasoline engine)
- AIRmatic control unit (with code 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS)))
- Trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) (with CODE 550 (Trailer hitch)), via the interior CAN and the electronic ignition lock control unit
The active roll stabilization control unit receives signals from the following sensors and buttons via chassis CAN 1:
- From left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1), right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2), left rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3) and the right rear axle rpm sensor (L6/4) over the Electronic Stability Program control unit
- Steering wheel angle sensor (N49) via the steering column tube module control unit
- From the Comfort/Sport button (ADS) (N72s36) (with CODE 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system (ADS)) (except CODE 430 (On-road & off-road package)) from the lower control panel control unit over the center console switch LIN and the interior CAN to the electronic ignition lock control unit using the SAM control unit interface. The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the signal over the chassis CAN 1 to the interface for the AIRmatic control unit (with CODE 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS))) to the active roll stabilization control unit.
- From the off-road package transmission mode control (N72/3s1) (with CODE 430 (On-road & off-road package)) from the off-road control panel control unit via the center console switch LIN and the interior CAN to the electronic ignition lock control unit using the SAM control unit interface. The electronic ignition lock control unit sends the signal over the chassis CAN 1 to the interfaces for the AIRmatic control unit (with CODE 489 (AIRmatic (air suspension with level adjustment and adaptive damping system ADS))) and the ME-SFI [ME] control unit (with gasoline engine) or the CDI control unit (with diesel engine) to the active roll stabilization control unit.
System diagnosis takes place via the diagnostic connector (X11/4) using Xentry Diagnostics.
