INSPECT Check     
1 Check condition of vehicle. IMPORTANT For the wheel alignment measurement, all the vehicle parts must be installed and the vehicle must be fully assembled and ready to drive. Do not load the vehicle. The specified values for the vehicle are provided based on the actual values determined by the dimensional check system.
The specified tolerances of vehicle specified values are only for the test. If the vehicle is adjusted, the specified values should be aimed for.

5 Check vehicle underside for damage and corrosion of suspension, chassis and load-bearing body parts.

6 Check condition of the steering mechanism.

9 Check condition of shock absorbers and springs.

  Preparatory tasks     
10 Print out form for wheel alignment measurement. If a visual wheel alignment measurement is performed.

11 Select drive program "Sport". Model 205 with engine 177

12 Drive the vehicle onto measuring station and secure using parking brake.    
13 Unlock turn and slip plates.    
14.1 Raise vehicle level and lower again. Model 205, 213, 253

14.2 Rock vehicle to settle suspension on front and rear axles several times. Model 205, 213, 253
except code 489 (AIRMATIC)
 
14.3 Rock vehicle on front axle several times to settle suspension. Model 293  
15 Switch off easy entry and exit feature. Model 205, 253, 293
with code 275 (Driver's seat, electrically adjustable with memory function)

16 Lower window of driver's door.    
17 Install the brake pedal jack with the adapter for brake pedal jack between the brake pedal and the driver's seat. NOTES
Protect contact surfaces of brake pedal jack tool with adapter tool for brake pedal jack on brake pedal and on driver's seat.
Otherwise, the brake pedal and driver's seat may be damaged.
IMPORTANT The vehicle must not be loaded again during the remaining work procedure.

18 Determine vehicle level on front and rear axle using electronic inclinometer.   AR40.20-P-0301LW 
19 Attach quick clamping devices at front and rear wheels and remove tensioning levers.   AR40.20-P-0230SX 
20 Attach wheel mirrors or measurement pickups.    
21 Attach measuring heads.    
MEASURING Measure     
22 Carry out input measurement.    
23 Compare determined values with the specified values.

The camber on the rear axle is not adjustable. IMPORTANT The toe-out angle cannot be adjusted.

24 Adjust camber on rear axle. According to results of initial measurement.

27 Adjust toe on front axle. According to results of initial measurement. AR40.20-P-0264LW

28 Carry out output measurement.    
  Concluding tasks     
29 Detach measuring heads.    
30 Remove wheel mirrors or measurement pickups.    
31 Attach tensioning levers and remove quick clamping devices.    
32 Remove brake pedal jack with adapter for brake pedal jack.    
33 Lock turn and slip plates.    
34 Drive vehicle off measuring system.    
35 Switch on easy entry and exit feature. Model 205, 253, 293
with code 275 (Driver's seat, electrically adjustable with memory function)
Model 213

36 Check headlamp adjustment.
