Install Rear Fender Complete - Ar63.50-P-1401-03LWX

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Install rear fender (1) and fit.
- Install rear bumper.
- Install tail lamp.
- Install door seal.
- Install striker eye.
- Check and adjust gap dimensions.
- Fix rear fender (1) in place.
- Remove striker eye.
- Remove door seal.
- Remove tail lamp.
- Remove rear bumper.
- Drill rivet holes on rear fender (1) with 0 6.7 mm bit (area A).
- Remove rear fender (1).
- Deburr rivet holes on rear fender (1) and body on both sides.
- Coat with zinc dust paint insides of those riveted joints that will not be bonded.
- Install suitable spacers on outer rear wheel well at uniform intervals (area D).
- Apply sealant to outer rear wheel well and foam parts (areas B and D).
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas (areas C).
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces. Observe manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of adhesive.
- Install rear fender (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet rear fender (1) with %% 6.4x12 rivet (area E).
- Rear fender (1)
(areas F).
- Rivet rear fender (1)
(area G).
- Rear fender (1)
(areas H).
- Rear fender (1)
(areas I, K and L).
Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
- Grind inert gas welds down flat (areas I, K and L).
- Solder surfaces on rear fender (1) with body solder and smooth (areas I, K and L).
Alternatively to restorage of the surfaces with body solder, it is also possible to use a body basic spatula.
