Transmission Oil Heat Exchanger, Component Description - GF28.55-P-1001AVJ
Model 253 with transmission 725.096
View of transfer case with transmission oil heat exchanger
Location
The transmission oil heat exchanger (13) is located on the upper side of the transfer case.
Task
The transmission oil heat exchanger (13) ensures that the transmission oil temperature can be delivered to the coolant circuit. It forms the interface between the coolant circuit and the transmission fluid circuit.
Function
The heated transmission oil is sucked in by the oil pump (10) integrated into the transfer case and pumped to the transmission oil heat exchanger (13) feed connection.
The transmission oil is routed through channels on the inside of the transmission oil heat exchanger (13) that are surrounded by a continuous flow of coolant that absorbs the waste heat and dissipates it to the coolant circuit. The transmission oil flows back to the transfer case through the return flow line.
