Location
The AIR BODY CONTROL, control unit is located under the left front seat. The AIR BODY CONTROL Plus control unit is located in the trunk on the left.
Tasks
The AIR BODY CONTROL, control unit and the AIR BODY CONTROL Plus control unit have the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in over the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis FlexRay (Flex E)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read in by the AIR BODY CONTROL, control unit via a direct line:
- Circuit 30g (switched battery positive)
- Circuit 31
- Left rear level sensor (B22/7)
- Left front level sensor (B22/8)
- Right front level sensor (B22/9)
- Right rear level sensor (B22/10)
The signals from the following components are read in by the AIR BODY CONTROL Plus control unit via a direct line:
- Circuit 30g (switched battery positive)
- Circuit 31
Chassis FlexRay
The AIR BODY CONTROL, control unit uses the chassis FlexRay and receives signals from the following control units:
- CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine)
- ME-SFI control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine)
- Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4)
- Left lower control panel (N72/4)
- Fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4)
- Electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
The AIR BODY CONTROL Plus control unit uses the chassis FlexRay and receives signals from the following control units:
- AIR BODY CONTROL, control uni44t
Evaluation of input factors

- Air suspension valve 1, rear right (Y54/2y1)
- Air suspension valve 2, rear right (Y54/2y2)
Chassis FlexRay
The AIR BODY CONTROL, control unit uses the chassis FlexRay and sends signals to the following control units:
- Instrument cluster (A1), via the electronic ignition lock control unit and the user interface CAN (CAN HMI)
- Electronic Stability Program control unit
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following lines:
- Direct line
- Chassis FlexRay
- ME-SFI control unit (with gasoline engine) or CDI control unit (with diesel engine), via the powertrain control unit and the engine CAN (CAN C)
- Fully integrated transmission control, control unit
