NOTES The resistance/insulation resistance measurement should only be performed after the vehicle has been de-energized.

Otherwise, the test results may be falsified.

NOTES The resistance/insulation resistance measurement on the high-voltage component must never be performed between HV+ (positive) and HV- (negative).

The high-voltage component can otherwise be damaged.

NOTES A resistance/insulation resistance tester is used for the measurement.

NOTES Carefully connect the probes of the resistance/insulation resistance tester to the high-voltage connections.

Otherwise the high-voltage connections may be damaged.

  1. Check that testing tools are functioning properly in accordance with specifications from manufacturer.

  5. Calibrate resistance/insulation resistance tester.
  6. Open socket flap in bumper with the diagnostic system.

IMPORTANT When the vehicle has been de-energized, the socket flap can only be opened using the diagnostic system.

  7. Set resistance/insulation resistance tester to resistance testing mode.
  8. Perform resistance test using resistance/insulation resistance tester between protective earth conductor (PE) and ground point in luggage compartment.

If the ground fault circuit interrupter integrated in the charging cable or the ground fault circuit interrupter of the external power supply has been triggered.

    IMPORTANT Specified value < 1 Ω.

  9. Perform insulation resistance test using resistance/insulation resistance tester between phase L1 (L1) and protective earth conductor (PE).

If the ground fault circuit interrupter integrated in the charging cable or the ground fault circuit interrupter of the external power supply has been triggered.

IMPORTANT The resistance/insulation resistance tester must be set to 500 V during measurement.

IMPORTANT Specified value > 1 MΩ.

  10. Perform insulation resistance test using resistance/insulation resistance tester between neutral conductor (N) and protective earth conductor (PE).

If the ground fault circuit interrupter integrated in the charging cable or the ground fault circuit interrupter of the external power supply has been triggered.

IMPORTANT Specified value > 1 MΩ.
