The measurement of the structural components may only be performed in combination with the approved electronic measuring systems.
The following operation steps are shown on model 253.3.
Survey pattern for measurement of structural components of front end, shown on right side of vehicle
- Loosen screws (1, 2, 3).
- Measure, evaluate suspension strut tower (A) at measuring point (4) and enter measurement value as well as result in checklist.
Always replace spring strut dome (A) in event of cracks, folds or deformation.
Otherwise the required minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.
Measuring point (4) is always the screw head in the case of an installed strut.
A reshaping or repair is not permissible.
Shown on right side of vehicle
- Measure, evaluate connecting flange at suspension strut tower for front module carrier (B) at measuring point (5) and enter measurement value as well as result in checklist.
In event of cracks or folds on the connecting flange on the suspension strut tower for the front module carrier (B) always suspension strut tower.
Otherwise the required minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.
The measuring point (5) is always the center thread on the connection flange of the suspension strut tower for the front module carrier (B).
Reshaping or repairing is permissible to a limited extent.

- Measure and assess crossmember above rear axle (C) at measuring point (7) and enter measurement value and result in checklist.
Always replace crossmember above rear axle (C) in event of cracks, folds or deformation.
Otherwise the required minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.
Measuring point (7) is at center on screw head.
A reshaping or repair is not permissible.
Shown on right side of vehicle
- Measure and assess longitudinal member mounting console (D) at measuring points (8, 9) and enter measurement value and result in checklist.
Always longitudinal member console (D) in event of cracks, folds or deformation.
Otherwise the required minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.
Measuring points (8, 9) are at center on screw heads.
A reshaping or repair is not permissible.
Shown on right side of vehicle
- Measure, evaluate shock-absorber strut tower (E) at measuring point (10) and enter measurement value as well as result in checklist.
Always replace damper strut dome (E) in event of cracks, folds or deformation.
Otherwise the required minimum strength of the structural components is not ensured.
Measuring point (10) is at center on screw head of rear screw.
A reshaping or repair is not permissible.
