The following operation steps describe installation in a left-hand drive vehicle. With right-hand drive vehicles these operation steps must be carried out mirror-inverted.
Connection scheme
- Install individual contacts of touchpad wiring harness (13) electric lines and individual brown line (BN1
) into white 10-pin connector socket (13.1).
Contact cavity assignment:
Contact cavity 1 = brown line (BN1 )
Contact cavity 3 = red/gray line (RD/GY)
Contact cavity 8 = black/white line (BK/WH)
Contact cavity 9 = black line (BK)
Contact cavity 10 = brown line (BN)
- Route brown line (BN) to left center console ground point (W12) and connect
.
- Route red/gray line (RD/GY) of touchpad wiring harness (13), as shown, along existing lines into front passenger footwell.
Fix touchpad wiring harness (13) in place only after routing all retrofit wiring harnesses.
- Route brown line (BN) to electromagnetic compatibility ground point (Touchpad) (W91) and connect E3
.
- Route red/gray line (RD/GY) to front passenger side A-pillar fuse box (F1/3).
- Install red/gray line (RD/GY) into contact cavity "3" of electric multicircuit fuse 3 (F1/3MF3).
Contact cavity "3" and electric multicircuit fuse 3 (F1/3MF3) are labeled.
- Route twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) along existing lines to left rear footwell in the head unit end sleeve CAN (Low) (Z35/34z1) and head unit end sleeve CAN (High) (Z35/33z1).
The head unit end sleeve CAN (low) (Z35/34z1) and end sleeve CAN (high) (Z35/33z1) have yellow markings.
- Solder black line (BK) to head unit end sleeve CAN (Low) (Z35/34z1).
The end sleeve (14), the
adapter and the
reflector are available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplement wiring harness repair kit.
When making the soldering joint
use welding pearl catcher.
- Wrap fabric tape around end sleeve (14).
- Solder black/white line (BK/WH) to head unit end sleeve CAN (high) (Z35/33z1).

adapter and the
reflector are available in the
basic wiring harness repair kit or the
supplement wiring harness repair kit.
