	Remove/install
1	Remove left or right front wheel
			AP40.10-P-4050AK
2	Pull off hub cap (1)	Removal and installation tool	Fig 4
3	Remove bolt (2) on front axle shaft (3)	The bolt (2) torque must not be exceeded. Otherwise the angular contact ball bearing will be damaged. Replace bolt (2).
		Bolt, front axle shaft to front axle shaft flange	*BA33.30-P-1001-07D
4	Remove brake disk		AR42.10-P-0220NKB
5	Unhook electrical lines from cable duct with brake hose clip (4a)
6	Detach cable duct with brake hose clip (4a) from suspension strut (5)	Pry out plastic rivets and detach cable duct with brake hose clip (4a).
7	Detach rpm sensor on front axle at left or right with cable duct (4b) and place to one side	Bolt, rpm sensor to steering knuckle	*BA42.30-P-1001-01F
8	Detach tie rod		AR46.40-P-0200-02CW
		Nut, tie rod to steering knuckle	*BA46.40-P-1001-01O

10	Release front axle shaft (3) from front axle shaft flange (16)	Do not knock seized front axle shaft (3) out of front axle shaft flange (16). Otherwise the angular contact ball bearing will be damaged. If the front axle shaft (3) is difficult to remove: ↓

11	Unscrew nuts (6) on suspension strut (5) and remove bolts	Nut, suspension strut to steering knuckle	*BA32.25-P-1003-04J
12	Pull front axle shaft (3) out of front axle shaft flange (16) and remove steering knuckle (15)	Do not pull front axle shaft (3) too far out of the inner constant velocity joint. Otherwise the inner constant velocity joint will be damaged. Do not damage rubber boot (arrow) on supporting ball joint. Otherwise the transverse control arm has to be replaced.

13	Check condition of rubber boot (arrow) on supporting ball joint

14	Install in the reverse order
