	Remove
1	Lift vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-1000AK
2	Disconnect rear muffler (3) at connecting point (T)	For first time replacement of the rear muffler (3).
3	Detach repair clamp at connecting point (T)	After first-time replacement of the rear muffler (3).
4	Pull rear muffler (3) out of elastomer bearings and remove downwards
5	Remove exhaust tip (4)	Engine 270 in model 117, 176 up to model year 2016 with code 950 (AMG Sports package) with code P59 (Urban) Engine 270 in model 246 up to model year 2015 with code 950 (AMG Sports package) with code P59 (Urban) When replacing rear muffler (3).
	Clean
6	Remove combustion and corrosion residues on connecting points of rear muffler (3) and of center muffler (2)
	Check
7	Check elastomer bearings for damage	If damage is present ↓ Replace elastomer bearing.
	Install
8	Install exhaust tip (4)	Engine 270 in model 117, 176 up to model year 2016 with code 950 (AMG Sports package) with code P59 (Urban) Engine 270 in model 246 up to model year 2015 with code 950 (AMG Sports package) with code P59 (Urban) When replacing rear muffler (3).
		Bolt for exhaust tip	*BA49.10-P-1009-01AL
9	Introduce rear muffler (3) in elastomer bearings	Apply lubricating paste to the elastomer bearings.
		Antifriction paste, rubber parts 2.5 kg, DBL 6867.00	*BR00.45-Z-1002-06A
10	Attach new repair clamp between rear muffler (3) and center muffler (2) and align	Align repair clamp to the markings (arrows).
11	Align rear muffler (3) and center muffler (2) unstressed
12	Tighten repair clamp	Clamp, rear muffler to center muffler or diesel particulate filter	*BA49.10-P-1010-01AL
13	Lower vehicle from vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-1000AK
	Check
14	Check installation position and unobstructed movement of rear muffler (2) and center muffler (3)
	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15	Carry out an engine test run and check exhaust system for leaktightness
