IMPORTANT As of model 172 the concept for contacting electrical ground connections to the body has been altered. All body ground connections are covered-up in the production process with a coat of paint.

IMPORTANT

IMPORTANT: Only the newly developed paint-scraping nut (2) may be used for threaded ground connections. This is to establish an electrically conductive connection to the body through a painted ground connection in a process-consistent way. The paint is worn away when the paint-scraping nut (2) is screwed on. This enables an electrical connection to be made between the outer thread of the ground connection and the inside thread of the paint-scraping nut (2).

The use of other nuts that deviate from the specified paint-chafing nut (2) (e.g. for retrofits, repairs) may lead to a complaint.

IMPORTANT The following should still be observed:

If, for retrofits, a ground connection that was not previously used is assigned, make sure that the contact surface of cable lug (1) is flat (no welding splatter or suchlike.). Otherwise, there may be distortion or deformation to the cable lug (1) when screwing on.
