MODIFICATION NOTES
| 19.08.2020 | Special tool 725 589 02 14 00 sleeve added to document. Document and graphic adapted. |
Required special tools:
- 2x
parallel gauge (168 589 03 21 00) (12)
Measuring sleeve (13) The following tools are required by the
fixture (725 589 00 31 00):
Measuring block (4)
Measuring sleeve (2)
Base frame (6)
Drift (10)
Commercially available devices/tools
Digital vernier caliper (3)
- Place transmission housing (1) onto
parallel gauges (12)
- Depending on the transmission housing variants, fit
measuring sleeve (2) or
measuring sleeve (13) onto transmission housing (1).
There are two transmission housing variants with different diameters (64 mm and 62 mm).
- Place digital vernier caliper i (3) onto
measuring sleeve (2) or
measuring sleeve (13).
- Reset digital vernier caliper (3) to value of 0 mm.
- Move digital vernier caliper (3) onto
parallel gauge (12) through bore in
measuring sleeve (2) or
measuring sleeve (13).
- Determine dimension between
measuring sleeve (2) or
measuring sleeve (13) and
parallel gauge (12) and note down.
- Calculate dimension A1 and note down: Determined dimension - 50 mm (fixed dimension of
measuring sleeve (2) or
measuring sleeve (13)) = dimension A1 For example, 469.10 mm - 50.00 mm = 419.10 mm
- Insert measuring block (4) into transmission mount.
- Subject measuring block (4) to a force of 400 N.
Crank the transmission several times so that the transmission mounts settle.
- Place digital vernier caliper (3) flat onto
base frame (6) and move to measuring block (4) with digital vernier caliper (3).
- Reset digital vernier caliper (3) to value of 0 mm.
- Move to support ring (5) of base frame (6) with digital vernier caliper (3).
- Determine and note dimension.
- Calculate interim value and note down: Fixed dimension (measuring block (4)) 55 mm - determined dimension = interim dimension.
For example, 55.00 mm - 13.91 mm = 41.09 mm
- Calculate dimension B1 and note down: Fixed dimension (base frame (6)) 370 mm intermediate dimension = dimension B1
For example, 370.00 mm - 41.09 mm = 328.91 mm
- Position base frame (6) and
drift (10) on
parallel gauges (12).
- Place coupling K 27 (9) onto
drift (10).
- Place digital vernier caliper (3) onto base frame (6), move to seat (7) of deep-groove ball bearing with digital vernier caliper (3) and reset digital vernier caliper (3) to value of 0 mm.
- Remove coupling K 27 (9) from
drift (10).
Move to drift (10) with digital vernier caliper (3) and measure and note down dimension C1, e.g. 88.58 mm.
- Determine shim thickness: Dimension A1 - dimension B1 - dimension C1 = interim value
Interim value - play 0.3 mm = shim thickness e.g. 419.10 mm - 328.91 mm - 88.58 mm = 1.61 mm - 0.3 mm = 1.31 mm
- Install shim of the determined thickness.
