Remove/Install Front Engine Mount - AR22.10-P-4330LWD

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Deactivate memory package Engine 274.9 in model 253
with code 275 (Memory Package (driver's seat, steering column and mirror))
with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)
 
2 Turn rack-and-pinion steering to central position (front wheels in straight ahead position) and secure steering wheel with the holding device NOTES
The steering wheel must not be turned when detaching steering coupling.
Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed.

3 Perform disable for the high voltage on-board electrical system Engine 274.9 in model 253.354/954 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)

4 Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter    
5 Remove center and rear lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LW
6 Release and disconnect high voltage of the electrical A/C compressor Engine 274.9 in model 253.354/954 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)  
7 Unclip high-voltage line from charge air cooler bracket and place to one side Engine 274.9 in model 253.354/954 with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive)  
8 Remove front axle drive shafts Engine 274.9 in model 253 with transmission 724.2

9 Remove catalytic converter   AR49.10-P-5500LW
10 Unclip engine management control unit with bracket and place to one side with connected lines    
11 Remove screw/bolts (1) from left and right engine mount (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 274.9 in model 253.346/349/943/946/949
with code M005 (Vehicles with 4MATIC/all-wheel drive) Bolt, front engine mount to engine support

12 Mount engine hoist and raise engine NOTES
Do not put electrical lines and hoses under tension.
Otherwise damage will occur.

13 Unfasten screw/bolts (7) and heat shield (6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, heat shield to engine support *BA22.10-P-1003-02A 
14 Remove screw/bolt (5a) from the left and the front right engine mount (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 274.9 in model 253.346/349/943/946/949

15 Detach steering coupling from steering shaft   AR46.10-P-8000LW
16 Remove screw/bolts (5) from left and right front engine mount (2) and remove both front engine mounts (2) downwards IMPORTANT Always replace front engine mounts (2) in pairs.
IMPORTANT Observe environmental protection regulations for disposal of the engine mount (2). Dispose of front engine mount (2) into mixed scrap.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 274.9 in model 253.346/349/943/946/949
