Remove/Install Front Engine Mount - AR22.10-P-4330LWC

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Deactivate memory package Engine 274.9 in model 253 with code 275 (Memory package) except code M005 (4MATIC)  
2 Turn rack-and-pinion steering to central position (front wheels in straight ahead position) and secure steering wheel with the holding device NOTES
The steering wheel must not be turned when detaching steering coupling.
Otherwise the clock spring contact will be destroyed.
SPECIAL TOOL Retainer device

3 Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter    
4 Remove center and rear lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105LW
5 Disconnect exhaust system between CAT and center muffler   AR49.10-P-7283RF
6 Unclip engine management control unit with bracket and place to one side with connected lines    
7 Remove screw/bolts (1) from left and right engine mount (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 274.9 in model 253.942/948 except code M005 (4MATIC) Bolt, front engine mount to engine support *BA22.10-P-1001-03M 
8 Mount engine hoist and raise engine NOTES
Do not put electrical lines and hoses under tension.
Otherwise damage will occur.

9 Detach steering coupling from steering shaft   AR46.10-P-8000LW
10 Remove screw/bolts (5) from left and right front engine mount (2) and remove both front engine mounts (2) downwards IMPORTANT Always replace front engine mounts (2) in pairs.
IMPORTANT Observe environmental protection regulations for disposal of the engine mount (2). Dispose of front engine mount (2) into mixed scrap.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 274.9 in model 253.942/948 except code M005 (4MATIC) Screw/bolt, front engine mount to front axle carrier *BA22.10-P-1002-03M 
11 Install in the reverse order
